Home Buyer Program

At Habitat for Humanity, we know that families in our community have the potential to stand on their own.  There is no typical Habitat family.  The families who partner with us to build and improve places to call home come from a variety of backgrounds and are local.  The basis for a families selection is their level of need for better housing, their willingness to partner with us and work alongside volunteers, and their ability to pay an affordable mortgage.

Habitat homeowners play a hands-on role in eliminating barriers, beginning with the sweat equity hours they perform.  With the help of volunteers, they build and renovate the places they will call home.  Some help staff the local Habitat ReStore.

All of them are proactive, not passive.  Investing, not receiving.  They are seizing an opportunity, and -with a hand up- they are changing their own futures.

Call the Habitat office at (209) 465-5054 with any questions that you may have. The first step is to fill out the Family Questionnaire on this page and submit to our Family Selection Committee. After filling out this initial questionnaire, you will be contacted by the Committee with the next step. Our Homeowner Orientation Workshop dates are listed on the Events page and interested families are encouraged to attend the workshop. They are held at the Habitat office at 4933 West Lane in Stockton.

The application process has been opened. Our next Homeowner Application and Orientation Session will be in 2018.  Please check back for an exact date.  This informative session will be open to the first 25 applicants. Please sign up on the events/volunteer sign up sheet to reserve your space for this session, or call the office at (209) 465-5054. The initial application can be downloaded from this website by following the link below or an application can be picked up at the office at 4933 West lane, Stockton, CA 95210.
